Dr. Andrew T. Olagunju

Dr. Andrew T. Olagunju (MB; BS, M.Sc., FMCPsych., FWACP) is a faculty member of the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Lagos and consultant physician at the affiliated teaching hospital. He is a Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria and West African College of Physicians. Additionally, Dr Olagunju had postgraduate trainings on humanitarian action, Epidemiology, Health Policy and conflict resolution at the University College Dublin and Uppsala University respectively. Dr Olagunju is a founding member of board of directors of Real Visionaries Initiative, a non-governmental organization with mainstream community health programmes among the less privileged. As an Erasmus Mundus Alumni under the network of humanitarian action initiatives, He is committed as well as understands the significance of leveraging community health programmes for the underserved special populations with focus on alleviation of sufferings, poverty and promotion of equitable access to services. He is a recipient of multiple international awards/scholarships that include the 2013 American Society of Clinical Oncology International Development Educational Award in Palliative care, 2013 scholar of the Multinational Association of Supportive Care in Cancer and International Academy of Eating disorders clinician award among others. Dr Olagunju has in-depth clinical working experience among individuals with mental disorders with emphasis on Psychogeriatric, Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry, Palliative/ Psycho-oncology, Community Mental Health and Psychotherapy and psychosocial issues among others and publications in reputable journals. His main professional activities include providing mental health assessment, intervention/treatment in a multidisciplinary setting, while training and conducting research on related issues.
